MDCLXVI - Roman Numerals Converter

Have you ever looked at an inscription with a roman numerals date on it and been unable to work out what the value is? Confused by Roman Numerals and how they work? Yes. Well this App is for you. Not only does it convert normal integer values into Roman Numerals but also into the alternate system that is sometimes found. It will also let you type in Roman Numerals to tell you the integer value and also the alternate Roman Numerals to the integer value.

Each conversion is explained so that you can understand how the answers were arrived at. Also there is a page of notes about roman numerals.

Note: Because Roman Numerals were only standardized recently (certainly not by the Romans) there are many inscriptions with odd dates that do not follow the rules. This App will allow you to enter these odd inscriptions and it will do its best to calculate an answer.
